They make diesel engines, for the big trucks on the over-the-road hauls, and have for a long time. They know diesel engines! (Did you know that Rudolph Diesel, famous 19th century German inventor, committed suicide in 1913? One theory is that the German military "took him out", since he opposed his engine's usage in their submarines... another, that his engine scared oil barons of the time, since diesel can use vegetable-based fuels rather than just petroleum based fuels... but, who really knows? Great minds tend to be unstable as well as brilliant. (Look at Mois!!)
Anyway, back to CMI- diesel engines are the future! Cleaner, more efficient, and VERY reliable and long-lasting (just ask my tractor!), once you experience the difference, you realize a conventional 4 cycle engine is basically a model-T-cantankerous, rickety, and doomed for extinction.
We'll all be driving diesels in 7 or 8 years... (except me, of course!) Anyway, since Cummins (CMI)is moving into passenger cars and trucks diesel engines, with low-sulphur diesel fuel..
